American Water is classified by The Department of Homeland Security as an “Essential Service” and as such is exempt from any curfew or Shelter-in-place directives related to Covid-19. For this reason American Water will remain operational and to the best of our ability fulfill our obligation to help safeguard our nations drinking water supply. This includes necessary maintenance of existing equipment, Installation of all new or upgraded water filtration equipment for residential and commercial customers who depend on a specific quality of water for a variety of health and operational reasons.
All of this is precluded by demanding that all American Water Customers and employees are kept safe by practicing maximum safety precautions as laid out by the Center for Disease Control (CDC). To include but not limited to, proper social distancing, wearing of gloves and foot booties and use of hand sanitizer before and after each stop. In addition all American Water employees are required each morning to have their temperature taken and use hand sanitizer before entering our facility to insure the safest possible workplace. We are reviewing daily any CDC updates and implementing any changes to their Safety Protocol to ours immediately!
In short we know this is a challenging and unexplored environment for most all Americans and needs to be given it’s fullest attention, but at American Water we also know that by requiring best practices we can be here to help with all your water filtration needs! I believe that we will soon look back as a Nation and as a Company and this will be a blip in our history and that we will all come through this stronger for the experience and boy will we have a story to share with our kids and grandkids!
